Reflection: Analysis of Summer Work.

During the two weeks of A2 work in the summer my group and I made a remake to Queen's video of the iconic song I Want to Break Free. The original video is fun and flamboyant as the male band members are dressed as women, this was incorporated in or remake. Although we didnt have everthing to make a succesful remake such as the location (the original video had a living room set, but instead we used a classroom) the mise en scene wasn't the exact match either e.g. the lead female's wig is pink instead of big and black.
Gif of the beginning of video

Mid shot of male looking up like the shot in the video (above)

Birds eye shot that is also in original video

I have learnt, as ive mentioned in earlier posts to film more footage to fill spaces and to make the video more interesting, i have also learnt to be prepared for example to plan properly the layout of the video, what costumes/ make-up to wear or what camera angle to begin with. This will make the production process much quick and more fun instead of frustrating.

Things i have learnt:
How to lip-sync properly.
How to direct people accurately.
How to act in a music video.

I have definately learnt from my mistakes and will use the valuable knowledge i have gained during pre production /production/post production.

Overall, it was a very fun experience and i particularly enjoyed editing as it was quicker for this than for the thriller opening which made editing much better.
