A music video may mean different things depending on the artist. It may promote the artist in a certain way, and also promote some things in it such as products. It's another way to get the viewers' attention, whether that'd be through a narrative video; a performance video; or even a conceptual video. Music videos help establish, visualize or contain the artist's image, they may also show this through indirect or direct messages.
